Remembrance Day: 2024

Harrietsham Church Service

The Shining Lights did brilliantly at the Church Remembrance Service today.

Jimmy and Iris read a beautiful poem about the importance of wearing a poppy and what it means to us today.  They then laid a lovely poppy wreath at the war memorial.

Amelia and Jash did a great job of displaying our banner.  Our thanks to all of our Shining Lights who attended and represented our school at this important church service.

We thought the church looked beautiful - with crocheted poppies created by Hazel and the Harrietsham Craft Group.

2-minute silence at school

We gathered as a whole school community for the Remembrance Day 2-minute silence.  Each year group made a wreath which they brought to the playground with them.  We fell silent for 2-minutes to remember those who had given their lives for our peace today.  We were thankful to our parents who have served in the armed forces who joined us too.  All of our classes laid their wreaths at our Mustard Tree.

Our thanks to our wonderful poppy sellers this year.
