Lizards Class Year 5

Welcome to Year 5 and Lizards Class

I hope you have had a great summer and feel refreshed; I'm looking forward to getting to know you and having great year together!

This year, your teacher will be Mr Hyder, and Mrs Keggans will be helping you in the class during afternoon lessons for the beginning of the year.  You will also have lessons with Mrs Frost and Mrs Holland.  There will be a lot of new terminology and many different skills to learn, but we build on the skills from previous years, aim to make the lessons fun, and we are there to support you throughout the year, helping you develop in confidence.

Year 5 is an important year, as it helps in preparation for the Kent test and future years in education.  The quantity and quality of work is important to help if there is an appeal for secondary schools.  The children should strive to meet our expectations for presentation, using neatly joined handwriting in pen.  Another important thing to remember is the importance of checking through and editing work.  Even as adults, people make mistakes, and making corrections to work shows dedication and understanding.

Try your best and we will be there to support you every step of the way.  I am sure you will have a fantastic year, with great memories and knowledge that will stay with you as you progress up into the final year of primary school!
