At Harrietsham Church of England Primary School, we recognise our responsibility to care for the environment and to prepare our pupils to become thoughtful, responsible and active global citizens.

 

Our Curriculum

Through our Personal Development curriculum, our children will have the opportunity to become sustainability champions and to learn about how their actions can influence not only the local environment, but also the global impacts. 

We have developed our curriculum to focus on 5 main points:

• Waste
• Transport
• Food
• Climate Education
• Energy monitoring

Eco Warriors

At Harrietsham we have a hard-working group of pupils that commit to ensuring our school is as eco-friendly as it can possibly be. 

Our Eco-Warriors have: 

• Taken part in litter picking on our school grounds.

• Made classroom device reminder posters to help save energy

• Helped our classes to create our 'Sustainability Pledges'

• Conducted a worship to remind our school community about the importance of looking after the environment

• Encouraged families to walk, scoot or bike to school to help the environment
