  • Year 6 Cathedral Schools Day: November 2025

Year 6 visited Canterbury Cathedral for this year's Cathedral Schoools Day.

I had the pleasure of attending my first school trip since being at Harrietsham - with Year 6. We took part in the Cathedral Schools Day at Canterbury Cathedral, and to say it was a wonderful day is an understatement. I was so very proud of the whole of Year 6 - for their respect shown, for their thoughtfulness and for their reflection throughout the day. To finish the event, two of our children led worship (in Canterbury Cathedral – wow!!) and others paraded our school banner and took part in the choir. It was incredible and I am so thankful that I got to go along. My thanks to the teachers for organising and to the parent helpers who came along on the day.

I received the email below from Canterbury Diocese following the event:

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to your children who have led our worship in the cathedral over the past three days. Thank you also to the adults who supported them in making this possible.

All of the children did an amazing job — I hope they enjoyed the opportunity and the experience. There aren’t many people who can say they’ve led worship in the cathedral, especially at just 10 or 11 years old!
