Rabbits

Welcome to Rabbits Class!

Rabbits are amazing animals, just like Rabbits Class! Were you aware of these fascinating rabbit-related facts?

  • Rabbits have an excellent sense of smell, hearing and vision. They have nearly 360° panoramic vision, allowing them to detect predators from all directions. They can see everything behind them and only have a small blind-spot in front of their nose.

  • Rabbits have extremely strong hind limbs which allow them to leap great distances. They can jump up to one metre high and three metres long.

  • Rabbits stand upright on their hind legs to give themselves a better vantage point to look for predators. They alert other rabbits to the presence of danger by thumping their hind legs.

  • The rabbit is one of the 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac. It represents graciousness, kindness, sensitivity, compassion, tenderness and elegance. The last Chinese Year of the Rabbit was in 2011, and the next one will be in 2023.

See, there’s more to Rabbits than meets the eye!

We have a range of interesting topics to learn about this year, including mountains, the Vikings, ancient Greeks, local history and a European country. In Science, we will be learning about the Earth and Space, materials, forces and life cycles. We’ve got much more to learn in all of our other subjects too!

It will certainly be an exciting year in Rabbits Class, which we are all very much looking forward to!
