In Foxes class we aim to make learning as interactive and as fun as possible by learning through different topics. In addition, we always aim to challenge ourselves in our learning as part of our growth mindset, in order to fully stretch our brains and grow on our learning journey.
This term our topic is: ‘Meet the Flintstones’ all about the Stone Age.
History: We will find about what life was like in the Stone Age. The children will be using evidence to find out how our ancestors lived, what their houses, clothes and food were like as well as exploring Stone Age cave art.
Our Literacy will be based around the Stone Age, we our reading ‘Stig of the Dump’. We will be writing character descriptions as well as play scripts based on the book.
In our Mathematics we will be developing our mastery approach of in depth mathematical fluency and problem solving, beginning with place value of numbers, followed by addition and subtraction. Foxes will also be learning their timetables each week to help with their number work.
Our Science topic is rocks. Year three become geologists! We will be completing lots of super investigations as rock detectives as well as making fossils and finding out what is under our feet!
