Art E-Facts

Art Attack: Some great ideas for practical art with nicely presented step-by-step instructions in colour photos. You will have to scroll down the list as pupils work through   the lesson, but the clear graphics are definitely an asset.

The Artist's Toolkit: Various artistic concepts explored with videos and animations. Also the chance to watch artists work and talk about what they are doing.

Hercules: This is a website from an organisation called Access Art (part of The Arts Education Exchange). This website (in Flash) looks at statues of Hercules and the stories associated with the mythological character.

The Case of Grandpa's Painting: Pupils have to identify who is the artist behind a stolen work of art. They try to match the work of art to six famous artists and once they think they have a match, they will need to look at colour, composition, style and subject to decide whether it is a definite match. This task would need a lot of good questioning to support the task, but the ideas are interesting and there is a nice sting in the tail at the end of the story.
